[MWC] Mobile World Congress 2020 Got Cancelled Because Of Coronavirus!

Coronavirus has proved to be one of the most fatal communicable diseases of all time. It has literally shaken the world by its very roots. A lot has to be cancelled because of the same. Seemingly, LG, Sony, Intel, ZTE, Vivo, HMD Global, and others had to cancel their events because of coronavirus. Therefore, Mobile World Congress too gets cancelled because of the magnitude of this fatal disease!

QuickTake By Bloomberg’s Breaking News

The breaking news stated that the main reason for all the companies not attending the event is 2019 Coronavirus, a.k.a COVID-19 outbreak. This is done to keep in mind as a top-notch priority the health of the employees and the attendants of the event.

GSMA CEO, John Hoffman Words

“With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has canceled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event. The Host City Parties respect and understand this decision. The GSMA and the Host City Parties will continue to be working in unison and supporting each other for MWC Barcelona 2021 and future editions. Our sympathies at this time are with those affected in China, and all around the world.”

Final Words

The sad part is that hundreds of thousands of people from around the globe have been attending the annual conference to watch tech companies surprise them with their latest deals. The companies spend so much only to organise the very event. Statistically, Coronavirus has officially infected over 42,000 people, the most in Wuhan and the surrounding Hubei Province in China. The death toll has crossed thousand. Thus, keeping in mind that it’s better safe than to be sorry, the MWC 2020 has been cancelled!
